Monticello and Tara Golf Courses
The Savannah Lakes Village Tara Golf Club (circa 1993) offers a variety of man-made and natural hazards to challenge the weekend player as well as the low handicapper. The course layout forms a figure “8” around the country club and parallels Lake Thurmond. The ninth and eighteenth greens meet behind the clubhouse to form a shared green, which also overlooks the lake, all providing a spectacular view from the dining room. The Tara Golf Club measures 7,002 yards from the back tees and features 81 sand bunkers. The recently renovated and re-contoured tifeagle greens are surrounded by Zoysia grass and Bermuda fairways.

Country Club membership is included with the purchase of property. The home association fees are under $90 per month. The Hooters ProTour plays annually at Monticello and can not rave enough about the course and hospitality they expirence. The course was also designed around numerous rock formations, which also add to the breathtaking aesthetics and the degree of difficulty. As if this wasn’t enough, the Monticello Golf Course measures 7,032 yards from the back tees and features 76 sand bunkers. Monticello features Crenshaw/L93 bent grass on the greens enclosed by Emerald Zoysia collars and bunker surrounds and 419 Bermuda grass on the fairways.
